Analysis of Water Quality Monitoring in the Limestone Mine of PT.Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk

Abstract

Limestone mining activities at PT.Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk with an open pit mining system that has been going on for 49 years has had an impact on changes in environmental conditions where the mining itself takes place. The mining process that forms a hole certainly has the potential to become a place for water to get trapped. The purpose of this research is to find out whether the water monitoring activities in the limestone mine of PT.Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk and the parameters used are in accordance with the quality standards of the South Sumatra Govenor Regulation No.8 of 2012 or not. This research carried out by collecting data on the results of company documents in the form of potential data hydrogen (pH). The result of water quality monitoring at PT.Semen baturaja (Persero) Tbk show that the pH is in the range of (6-9) which is categorized as good according to the quality standards of South Sumatra Governor Regulation No.8 of 2012. Thus, the quality of the water in the limestone PT.Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk can be categorized as safe for disposal into public water bodies.
