Authorship Criteria

1. General Principles

INTECH (Informatika dan Teknologi) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal follows the ethical principles promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies transparent authorship practices to ensure that authorship accurately reflects the contributions made to scholarly work.

Authorship must be based on substantial intellectual contributions to the research and manuscript. The designation of authors must not be used to provide inappropriate academic credit, and all individuals listed as authors must accept responsibility for their contributions to the published work.

2. Criteria for Authorship

To qualify as an author in INTECH, an individual must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Substantial Contribution: Have made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the study; the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data; or the development of relevant software or research methods.

  2. Drafting or Critical Revision: Have participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.

  3. Final Approval: Have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript submitted for publication.

  4. Accountability: Have agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions relating to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the research are appropriately investigated and resolved.

All four criteria must be satisfied for an individual to be recognized as an author.

3. Contributions That Do Not Qualify for Authorship

Activities that do not, by themselves, justify authorship include funding acquisition, general supervision, administrative support, routine data collection, technical assistance, language editing, or proofreading.

Individuals who contribute to the research but do not meet all authorship criteria should, where appropriate, be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section, provided that their consent has been obtained.

Honorary, guest, gift, and ghost authorship are not permitted.

4. Author Contributions

INTECH encourages authors to provide a clear description of each author's contribution to the manuscript. Where applicable, the journal may use the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) to describe contributions such as conceptualization, methodology, software, data curation, formal analysis, writing, review and editing, supervision, and funding acquisition.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all listed authors meet the journal's authorship criteria, that contributions are accurately represented, and that all authors have approved the submitted manuscript.

5. Corresponding Author Responsibilities

The corresponding author serves as the primary contact between the authors and the editorial office throughout submission, peer review, publication, and any subsequent post-publication correspondence.

The corresponding author must ensure that:

  • All eligible contributors are included as authors.

  • All authors have approved the manuscript and agreed to its submission to INTECH.

  • The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal.

  • Any relevant conflicts of interest, funding sources, and ethical approvals are disclosed.

  • All authorship declarations and contribution statements are accurate and complete.

6. Changes in Authorship

Any request to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be justified and submitted to the editorial office in writing.

All affected authors must provide written agreement to the proposed change. The editorial team may request additional documentation or clarification before making a decision.

INTECH follows COPE guidance when handling authorship disputes. If a dispute cannot be resolved by the authors, the journal may refer the matter to the relevant institution or research organization. The journal will not independently determine institutional employment, ownership, or misconduct disputes beyond its editorial remit.

Changes to authorship after publication will be considered in accordance with the journal's correction policy and applicable publication ethics guidance.

7. Authorship Disputes and Ethical Concerns

Concerns involving disputed authorship, inappropriate attribution, omitted contributors, or other authorship-related misconduct should be reported to the editorial office.

INTECH will assess such concerns fairly and confidentially, following applicable COPE guidance. Where necessary, the journal may request explanations or supporting evidence from the authors and contact their affiliated institutions.

Appropriate editorial action will be taken based on the findings, the stage of publication, and the seriousness of the concern.

8. Use of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including generative AI systems, cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of scholarly work.

Authors remain fully responsible for the content of their manuscripts, including any material generated or assisted by AI tools. The use of AI tools must be disclosed in accordance with the journal's AI policy, where applicable.

9. Ethical Compliance

By submitting a manuscript to INTECH, authors confirm that the authorship information is accurate, that all listed authors meet the journal's authorship criteria, and that no eligible contributor has been improperly excluded.

INTECH reserves the right to investigate suspected authorship irregularities and take appropriate editorial action in accordance with its publication ethics policies and relevant COPE guidance.
